The Shure Model SM82 line level unidirectional condenser microphone
Webmaster’s note: Significant is the fact this is a line level microphone. Keep in mind this means its output will be greater than that of most other mics. Connect this mic to a line level input on a console or similar equipment. Failure to heed these guidelines will cause severe audio distortion, with the possibility of damaging mic-level inputs downstream. Mic level is in the region of -60 dBV (0.001 volt) to -40 dBV (0.01 volt). Line level is in the region of 0 dBV (1.000 volt). This is about 1,000 times greater than a mic-level signal.
