A double-button carbon microphone—the Western Electric model 387—mounted by springs in a ring fitted into a candlestick telephone base. A great association piece that links the development of the telephone with the early days of broadcasting. The springs are newer replacements, but the microphone, ring, and base are original. Condition is decent, with several typical small scratches and indentations that validate its age and use. Uncertain as to working condition as I have no means of testing it. Overall, this microphone has outstanding eye appeal, and would make a great addition to any microphone, broadcasting, or telephone collection. (From the owner’s eBay description)
